Sydney Roosters superstar James Tedesco came up with a huge individual play which saw the Roosters beating the Cowboys 30-16 in the NRL last night.
Tedesco somehow busted through four North Queensland tackles and charged 50 metres before he passed off the ground for Angus Crichton to score early in the second half as their rivals looked set to get right back into the contest.
The man widely considered the game’s best ran for 171m, had seven tackle busts and two try assists in the win. Tedesco, however, was also involved in a controversial tackle that left Todd Payten fuming inside the North Queensland coach’s box.
The skipper was caught high by Cowboys forward Lachlan Burr, who was placed on report and given 10 minutes in the sin bin. Tedesco was already close to the ground when he was crunched.
To make matters worse, Tedesco came from the field for an HIA and was replaced by Victor Radley, only for Tedesco to replace Nat Butcher a few seconds later in what was essentially a free interchange.
In other matches, the Rabbitohs beat the Sharks 32-22 and the Raiders edged the Bulldogs 20-18.
