World Rugby has confirmed that the City of Madrid will host the Grand Final of the re-imagined World Rugby 7s Series for three years from the next season.

The city is staking its claim to ignite a passion for the sport, with the iconic Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium a spectacular backdrop for the inaugural Grand Final in June 2024.

Madrid will welcome the finest 7s players on the planet and fans from around the world at the height of Europe’s summer for a three-day festival of breath-taking competition on the field, supported by a world class entertainment offering.

Madrid will sit at the heart of the remodelled Sevens World Series, which will feature seven festival style events, in seven iconic global destinations, across seven months, showcasing the best 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams.

The next season of the World Rugby 7s Series will start in December this year.
