This was confirmed by the General Manager of MV Suilven Operations Mohammed Saneem after the completion of a survey conducted by the Maritime and Safety Authority.
Earlier in the week, the Managing Director of MV Suilven Ben Naidu had announced the cancellation of all future trips to the North with services only to resume after the overseas consultants checked the steering system.
Saneem said with the help of the local contractors, the steering system was fixed on Monday and they had no intention to sail as the MSAF survey was booked for Thursday.
Saneem would like to assure all passengers that safety is their priority and will not put any lives at risk.
The vessel departs Suva this afternoon and will arrive in Savusavu on Saturday morning.
