The 4th Melanesian Spearhead Group Police Commissioners Conference will begin today at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi.
The meeting is expected to discuss issues including the Formed Police Unit, the Regional Police Academy and the Department of Peace Keeping Operations initiatives.
The meeting will also look at how the respective MSG Governments can enhance regional security cooperation arrangements.
The Solomon Islands Deputy Commissioner Walter Kola said he is eagerly looking forward to the Conference to finalising some vital issues that would benefit the Solomon Islands and also the region.
The Police Commissioners also from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Fiji along with their delegations will be attending the two day conference which will be officially opened today by the Minister of Defence Joketani Cokanasiga.
The Police Commissioners last annual meeting was held in November 2012 in Papua New Guinea and this was followed by a Special meeting in Vanuatu in May last year.
