Rotary Pacific Water Foundation and Vodafone ATH have a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government because there are various projects they are involved in that deal mainly with providing water to rural areas in Fiji that do not have metered water.

Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau says he has emphasised to the Ministry of Public Works and Water Authority of Fiji to properly assess our communities that do not have access to water and those that do not have access to treated water.

The Minister says that is their key challenge right now especially for the areas Rotary Water Pacific Foundation is focusing on which are most of the rural communities.

He says those who do not have access to metered water are a priority as he has visited a community in Vusama and WAF are closely working with them to ensure there is access to water.

He adds at the moment they are looking at the most effective way to deliver it and that is a key focus too of the reorganisation of the Public Works Department.
