MIOT Pacific Hospital in Suva says due to certain technical supplier issues of consumables, the cath lab and CT Scan services have been temporarily withdrawn.
A cath lab is an examination room with diagnostic imaging equipment used to visualize the arteries and chambers of the heart and treat any abnormality found while a CT Scan is a computerized scan which provides more‑detailed information than plain X‑rays do.
When questioned by Fijivillage about the temporary suspension of the services and word coming through that the MIOT specialists have left the country, Executive Director MIOT Pacific Hospitals, Pramesh Sharma says the services in the basement of MIOT Pacific Hospitals has been temporarily suspended due to certain technical supplies issue of the consumables that is required to run the facilities effectively and safely.
Sharma also says that the MIOT International support personnel have returned to India, in the meantime, after these issues were established.
He says the management are working with the suppliers and technical team of the providers of the CT Scan to restore services at the earliest.
When questioned on whether the MIOT specialists will come back, Sharma says that the personnel to operate the services will be in place once they have resolved the supply of consumables.
He says those booked for the services have been advised and are being directed to other providers in the interim.
