Lucky lottery winner gets $25,000

Karate Fiji’s Salote Tuqiri walked away $25,000 richer after winning the 2011 FASANOC lottery today.

The lottery which has seen over $134,000 generated is solely for Team Fiji to the Pacific Games next month in New Caledonia.

Chef de mission Patrick Bower revealed that Team Fiji will consist of 400 athletes and officials.

He revealed all the money generated from the lottery sale will also be used to pay for the four chartered flights to New Caledonia as well as the fares for the officials and athletes commuting from the various satellite villages in New Caledonia.

The first contingent of Team Fiji consisting of 157 athletes and officials will leave on the 24th of next month.
