More than 2000 people including 380 students of Lomawai Secondary School in Sigatoka will no longer have to travel far to access internet services as they now have their own telecentre.
While speaking at the opening of the Lomawai Secondary School telecentre today, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said young people should work hard and take advantage of the opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills.
Lomawai Secondary School Principal Sanaila Sumo said the new telecentre will save time and money for the students.
He said most of the time students are taking their school hours and travel far to access internet services in Sigatoka and Nadi.
Thousands of people now have access to internet services at 16 telecentres around the country.
