Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s player Ponipate Loganimasi says he is honoured and privileged to be a part of the Fiji 7s team and to be playing in the HSBC World 7s series against top-tier teams.
Loganimasi who made his World 7s series debut at the Los Angeles 7s last week says he is humbled and thankful to be representing Fiji.
Loganimasi also shared his experience of playing in a different environment and in front of a huge crowd.
He says it was a nerve-wracking experience but he was blessed with the opportunity to be able to live his dream of donning the white jersey.
He adds, it is the dream of every kid in Fiji to represent the country on the big stage and he was lucky enough to get that opportunity.
Loganimasi says he was also honoured to have played against some of the top players around the world that he has been watching on television while growing up.
The 24-year-old says he is raring to play again this weekend and will be looking up to the senior players in the team to help him develop his skills.
The Vancouver 7s will be held from tomorrow to Monday.
Fiji will begin their Vancouver 7s campaign against Kenya at 7.52am tomorrow, they will then play Uruguay at 2.16pm tomorrow and face Great Britain at 8.42am Sunday in their last pool match. The Cup quarter-finals will start at 3.37pm Sunday, the semi-finals will begin at 9.48am Monday, and the final will be held at 2.26pm Monday.
