The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will face South Africa in the cup quarterfinals of the Singapore 7s at 4.50pm today.
In other cup quarterfinals, Australia will take on Argentina, New Zealand will meet Samoa while USA will take on Ireland. The cup quarters will start at 4.28pm.
In their last pool game, Vuiviawa Naduvalo was the star for Fiji as he ran in three tries in the match to help thrash Japan 62-0.
Naduvalo has now become the leading try scorer in the tournament with 6 tries. He also scored a try against Ireland and 2 tries against France.
Fiji looked impressive from the first whistle winning 65% of the restarts and improving their discipline having given away only 3 penalties in the game.
Iowane Raturaciri also got on the score-sheet with two tries in the second half.
Other tries were scored by Joseva Talacolo, Josua Vakurunabili, Kaminieli Rasaku, Filipo Bukayaro and Josevani Soro.
The win sees Fiji top their pool.
Fiji had earlier lost to Ireland 21-12, and just managed to beat France 26-19.
In other matches last night, USA beat South Africa 12-7, Australia thumped England 40-0, Samoa beat Spain 26-14, Argentina defeated Scotland 29-14, New Zealand thumped Wales 43-5 while France beat Ireland 12-5.
The cup semis will start at 8.13 tonight while the final will be played at 11.28pm.
