Judoka and Team Fiji’s flag bearer Josateki Naulu failed to make the elimination round after losing to his Montenegro counterpart last night.
Judo section Manager Nacanieli Takayawa said they are happy with Naulu’s performance.
Weightlifter Maria Liku finished eighth in the women’s 63 kg at the Olympic Games this morning.
Liku lifted 82kg in the snatch and 100kg in the clean and jerk with a total lift of 182kg.
The 22-year-old was aiming for the top eight finish before the games.
Swimmer Paul Elaisa swam a personal best time in Heat 2 of the 100m Freestyle last night with a time of 54.43seconds bettering his previous time of 55.32s.
Archer Robert Elder lost to Bubmin Kim of Korea who is ranked number 2.
China is still leading the medal tally with 10 gold,6 silver and 3 bronze, USA is second with 5 gold,7 silver,5 bronze and France is third with 4 gold,1 silver,4 bronze.
