Levula charged with rape, burglary and aggravated robbery appears in court

26-year-old Niko Levula who has been charged with one count of rape, one count of burglary and one count of aggravated robbery appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court.

The prosecution objected to bail sighting the seriousness of the charges.

He has been remanded in custody and the matter will be called in the Suva High Court on the 17th of this month.

Levula allegedly entered the 35-year-old woman's home while she was sleeping, threatened and raped her, and later took off with a phone and assorted items on Sunday.

The items alleged to have been stolen from the victim was also found in his possession by the arresting team.
