People of Levuka that are currently facing issues with water, electricity, social services or a delay from an authority on applications for land or lease renewals can access the free services from the Fijian Legal Aid Commission during their roadshow this Saturday.
Legal Aid Director, Shahin Ali says they will be providing legal aid services that covers all areas of law like free drafting of wills and assistance on land-related issues to advice on criminal matters such as bail, mitigation and pleas
Ali says family matters will also be given a special focus to assist Fijians with difficult issues like divorce, maintenance, Domestic Violence restraining Order and Stop Departure orders.
He says the roadshows are an ongoing initiative as part of Legal Aid’s 3-year strategic plan to ensure that all Fijians have access to high-quality legal services even if they are unable to pay.
The roadshows will be held opposite the Legal Aid Commission’s office in Levuka Town.
