Good news for the people in Levuka as the government is planning for the refurbishment works for Levuka Town.
This was highlighted during the meeting with the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, where discussion were held with the Department of Culture, Heritage and Arts on the matters of beautifying Levuka town while ensuring to preserve and maintain the original heritage buildings and sites.
Discussions included painting the frontage of the Levuka town, and buffer zone, improvement of infrastructure in Levuka, putting up new billboards, and the Fiji Heritage Bill.
Present at the meeting were the Director of the Department, Collin Yabaki, Senior World Heritage Officer, Ana Kalougata, Senior Policy and Convention Officer, Vereniki Nalio, and Political Aid, Manasa Kikau.
