Chief Justice Kamal Kumar says the letter from the Acting Chief Registrar, Kashyapa Wickramasekara, sufficiently says about the meeting between him and the Attorney General, Siromi Turaga.
This is in regards to the courtesy call made by Turaga to Kumar on 29th December, 2022.
In a letter, Wickramasekara says the meeting was cordial, and no directive was issued by the AG that may amount to interference with the independence of the judiciary in any respect.
The Chief Registrar says during the informal discussions, the Chief Justice briefed Turaga about projects recently completed and those in progress.
He says the need to fill the senior management positions was discussed, and such positions will be filled in compliance with due process and the law.
