Former Fiji Under 20 reps Breyton Legge and John Muller have signed for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s Development programme for the 2025 season.
This announcement was made by the Drua today.
The Drua’s Development programme is an important feeder into the main Super Rugby Pacific squad.
Legge has made 9 appearances for the Fiji Under 20 side since 2022 and played at the recent U20 World Rugby Championship in South Africa, while Muller featured for Fiji in the U20 World Cup in 2021 and was part of the Fiji Warriors side which won the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023.
While speaking on the signing, Legge says it feels great as he has always dreamed of playing for his country and playing in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
Muller, who captained the Northland Rugby side in the Vodafone Vanua Championship this year, says it is a dream come true and he is very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua.
He says he is looking forward to start training with the team.
Speaking on the signing of the two players, Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa says both Legge and Muller were part of Fiji Rugby’s HPU program and he is happy to see their progression into the Drua Development.
Rawaqa says the two players bring good depth into their props.
Rawaqa adds Legge is a skilled player and quick learner and Muller is a hardworking player and brings aggression in both attack and defence.
He says he knows with more professional development through the Drua, the players will easily progress to the next level.
Development players who have been promoted and earned Super Rugby Pacific contracts in the past two years include Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce and Sikeli Rabitu.
