Fiji's iconic musician and songwriter, Jese Mucunabitu passed away this morning at the CWM Hospital after a prolonged illness.
This has been confirmed by his wife Esiteri Rokovakacegu.
Mucunabitu sang some memorable songs like Fascinating Fiji, Tropical Dawn, Lomaloma and My Taveuni. Many people will never forget Jese serenading them at the famous Tiko’s Restaurant.
Rokovakacegu says Jese was a loving father who always put his family first.
She adds most of the time he travelled overseas promoting Fiji to the world and he also played in many private parties and functions in the country.
Rokovacegu says one of her best memories with her husband is the time Jese recorded the song "My South Pacific" as he liked to promote the country to the world.
