US Ambassador Joseph Cella and Leadership Fiji Alumni President Julianne Verma.

The U.S. Embassy in Fiji in partnership with the Leadership Fiji Alumni acknowledged that the COVID-19 crisis has created the need to reconnect and utilize channels and platforms that are viable both consciously and with purpose.

While speaking to the alumni during their summit, the US Ambassador Joseph Cella says the alumni can reconnect and be reminded that 2020 presented challenges emanating from the plague which neither of our countries could have anticipated or prepared for.

Cella says whether through the signing of the Trade Investment Framework Agreement or the Fiji Forward Business and Economic Roundtables, and important public diplomacy engagements such as Leadership Fiji, he is delighted to be fortifying long-standing bridges of bilateral trade and human development.

Cella hosted around 50 Leadership Fiji Alumni for their Annual Summit.

Alumni President Julianne Verma says the summit was a good way to reconnect with the other alumni and getting insights from good speakers.

Verma says everyone that goes through the Leadership Fiji program gains leadership skills that is very valuable throughout their lifetime.
