Villagers of Lea in Cakaudrove were very grateful after the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Seli Adimaitoga handed over their new boat and engine to help improve their livelihood.

While handing over the new boat and engine which cost $15,588, Adimaitoga says this was part of the promise that was made by the Prime Minister to the villagers last year.

She says the boat will help in transportation and fishing for 59 families.

Adimaitoga says this is part of government’s initiative to improve livelihood and take development to the very remote areas.

She says this initiative is also in the 2021/2022 National Budget.

The Assistant Minister has also urged the villagers to use the boat for what it has been given for and to take care of it.
