The Laxmi Narayan Temple in Suva, as part of Diwali traditions, will be distributing food, including sweets and savouries to over 4000 people on Sunday.
Pundit Janendra Shastri says food will be distributed to 28 Housing Assistance and Relief Trust Settlements and seven schools along the Suva-Nausori Corridor.
He says that this has been made possible through the donations of people coming to the temple to pray.
Meanwhile, the temple will also have a prayer ceremony called “Chappan Bhog” this afternoon for “Govardhan Pooja” where 108 different types of food items will be prepared for those attending the function this afternoon.
Pundit Shastri has invited everyone to be part of this function and get to taste different types of Indian food.
