Nine Queen contestants will be vying for the Miss Sugar crown in the Lautoka Sugar Festival which will be officially opened tonight.
Vice President of the Sugar Festival Committee Pusp Raj has confirmed Miss Sugar Festival Queen contestants first public judging will be held on Tuesday.
Raj says that the committee will be looking to assist people with disabilities by providing them with mobility devices from funds raised from the festival.
He adds that the committee is also focused on bettering the lives on individual people that have cancer and heart problems and also to assist families who may have lost their homes to a fire.
Raj says that the Sugar Festival Committee has assisted a total of 80 people between 2017 and 2018 and look to continue assisting cardiac and cancer patients, people living with disabilities as well as fire victims.
The Vodafone Sugar Festival will be opened at 7pm tonight at the Churchill Park Carnival Grounds and the winning contestant of the Sugar Festival will also represent Lautoka in the Miss Fiji Pageant next month.
