Lagilevu who is charged with rape further remanded in custody

Wise Ezekiel Lagilevu who is charged with one count of rape, one count of sexual assault, one count of escaping from lawful custody and one count of giving false information to a public servant has been further remanded in custody.

Lagilevu told Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar that he will be seeking Legal Aid Assistance.

It is alleged that Lagilevu raped and sexually assaulted a woman in December in Suva last year.      

Lagilevu also has another alleged rape case before the court which happened in Lautoka.

The case has been adjourned till the 5th of July.
