The Lagalaga Electrification program is in its Stage 1 and is expected to be completed by the end of October this year while Stage 2 will be completed by 31st of March 2020.
Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted this at the Lagalaga Farmers Carnival in Labasa last night.
He says one of the key issues in Lagalaga is access to electricity as they are currently not connected to the Energy Fiji Limited grid.
Sayed-Khaiyum says before, communities had to contribute 10% then it moved down to 5% but now government has removed it.
He says there has been an update from EFL that now poles have already been put in.
The Lagalaga Farmers carnival was held in Lagalaga Sanatan Primary School to celebrate the 75 years of the formation of the school.
