Labasa police working with Commissioner Northern to map out strategies for cyclone preparedness measures

Police Chief of Operations, ACP Maretino Qiolevu says police officers in Labasa are working closely with the Commissioner Northern to map out strategies for cyclone preparedness measures and rescue operations.

He says officers at various police stations and police posts in the North are also on standby monitoring the weather system and people’s movements.

Qiolevu says they do not want the unnecessary movement of people in the North.

He says their officers will continue to patrol Labasa Town to ensure there is no unnecessary movement.

Qiolevu adds they have dedicated teams ready for the Eastern half of Viti Levu.
