The Labasa Sugar mill will re‑open.
Labasa Sugar Mill Manager, Christopher Karia says due to the shortage of cane supply by cane farmers in the Northern Division, the mill was closed yesterday.
He stresses that to run the mill they need close to 2,000 tonnes of cane supply however only fifty cane trucks were outside the mill and it carted not more than 600 tonnes of cane.
The Manager says that if the cane supply meets the requirement then only will they be able to start the mill again.
