LTA is now undertaking a restructure after serious allegations that examiners are being bribed to provide new full class license cards and defensive driving course certificates.
LTA Board Chairman, Vijay Maharaj says they are now getting their computer system ready to allow more examiner tests to be done with computers.
They believe lessening human‑to‑human interaction is a way to eliminate bribery in the organisation.
Despite this ongoing reform within the LTA, there are still concerns about the number of people who are constantly gaining access to the LTA database.
The LTA database contains detailed information about a driver including the number of road offenses committed.
CEO, Naisa Tuinaceva says data entry is only done by authorised officers and this decreases the chances of data manipulation.
Last week, the LTA board referred bribery allegations to FICAC and Police.
It also set up a toll‑free number ‑ 0800‑3342886 for people to call and report complaints of corrupt practices by LTA officers.
