The Land Transport Authority clarifies that the case of the misappropriation of cash by their Nadi Office staff in 2013 was referred to the Fiji Police Force and the contracts of those workers were terminated.

LTA says an internal investigation was carried out by their Internal Audit Team in 2016, where they found out that some of their Nadi Office staff had been undertaking fraudulent activities.

They say the total amount of funds that was misappropriated by their Nadi staff amounts to $18,006.

LTA says since there was enough evidence, it is protocol to refer such cases to the Fiji Police Force which is what they did.

Police say since this was an old case they are still trying to find out whether those former LTA workers were charged.
