LTA CEO verification process underway

The verification process of an internal audit report on Land Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer Etuate Koroi is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

This has been confirmed by Auditor General Tevita Volani-Vanua who said the verification process is currently underway and they should complete this by Friday, after which they will hand it back to the Transport Ministry.

Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said the Ministry will not comment further on the matter as they would not like to pre-empt the outcome.

Waqainabete had earlier said Koroi had been sent on leave to ensure transparency within the process however refused to reveal the details of the findings of the internal audit report.  

The findings are expected to be made public once the verification process has been completed.
