The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side finished in 5th place at the HSBC Perth 7s after defeating France 17-5 in the 5th place playoff tonight.
The first half of the match was filled with intensity as both teams hunted for the win.
Fiji managed to score a try through a sneaky step from Terio Veilawa to lead France 7-0 at halftime.
The second half saw Fiji score another two tries from Sakiusa Siqila and Joji Nasova to seal their win.
Enahemo Artaud scored the lone point for France in the dying seconds of the second half.
Meanwhile, Argentina retained their Perth 7s title after thrashing Australia 41-5 in the final.
With Argentina retaining its title, they are tied in first place with Fiji and Spain at 48 points.
Looking at the men’s results, Ireland edged the USA 19-17 in the 11th-place playoff, New Zealand beat Kenya 19-12 in the 9th-place playoff, Great Britain defeated Uruguay 26-7 in the 7th-place playoff, Fiji beat France 17-5 in the 5th-place playoff, and Spain beat South Africa 14-7 in the 3rd-place playoff.
Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s finished in 9th place after defeating Great Britain 26-17.
