Iowane Teba scored four tries for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team as they began their HSBC Los Angeles 7s campaign on a high thrashing Japan 50-0 this morning.
Teba showed some magnificent play scoring a hat-trick in the first half to give Fiji a 26-0 lead at the break. His fourth try came in the second half. Pilipo Bukayaro, Waisea Nacuqu, Manueli Maisamoa and Rokoua Rasaku scored a try each.
In other results, Great Britain defeated Argentina 7-5, France beat Spain 19-7, Samoa beat USA 26-19, New Zealand thumped Chile 26-7 and Kenya defeated Australia 12-7.
Fiji will meet Kenya at 12.03pm midday in their second pool match, before playing Australia at 3.09pm today.
The cup quarter-finals will begin at 6.23am tomorrow, the cup semi-finals will start at 10.14am tomorrow and the cup final will be at 1.28pm tomorrow.
