Swire Shipping Fijian Drua halfback Simione Kuruvoli is expected to make a comeback onto the rugby field for the Fiji Water Flying Fijians in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup campaign after sitting out the whole of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season this year due to injury.
This was confirmed to fijivillage News by coach Simon Raiwalui.
He says Kuruvoli has recovered well and has followed his rehab program thoroughly and is fully fit to be out on the field again.
When asked by fijivillage News how they will be looking to counter the threats that the Tongans will be bringing with them this weekend, Raiwalui says they have analysed the Tongan’s game against the Australian A last week and they have managed to detect some of the Tongans’ weak areas which they will try and take advantage of this weekend.
Raiwalui says it will always be physical playing against the Pacific brothers, and they will try and work on their set pieces as the Tongans are good in that area.
He says the Tongans are always a threat but they have set out a game plan in order to counter that and they will utilise the depth they have especially in the backline.
He also says there will be a few debutants that will make their debut in this weekend’s clash against the Ikale Tahi side.
The Flying Fijians will host Tonga at 3pm Saturday in Lautoka.
