Kurtley Beale has announced his intention to give incoming Wallabies coach Dave Rennie no choice but to let him become the third Australian to play his fourth Rugby World Cup.
Beale is set to leave the Waratahs at the end of the season to take up a deal with French club Racing 92, but is still eligible to represent the Wallabies if selected by virtue of the fact he has played more than 60 Tests.
The 92-Test veteran has already featured at three Rugby World Cups, and said he “absolutely” holds ambitions to emulate George Gregan and Adam Ashley-Cooper as the only Australians to appear at four Rugby World Cups.
Beale, one of Australian rugby’s greatest players since his 2007 Super Rugby debut, says the time was right for a new challenge in Paris, having moved to the UK in 2016 for a stint with Wasps.
