Taking heed of warnings and advice from medical professionals is crucial as it ensures that the diseases are detected early and the correct treatment is undertaken.
This was highlighted by the Minister for Industry and Trade, Faiyaz Koya while speaking at the ANZ Fiji-500 Cure Kids Oxygen Project.
Koya says the Oxygen Project is important, as it addresses the pressing and challenging need in the Pacific to ensure that those needing oxygen and those with severe hypoxic illnesses get all that is needed for them to survive.
He says with Fiji diagnosing 20 to 30 news cases of childhood cancer each year adding that it is extremely important to work together in shaping and changing the way children who live with such serious diseases and health conditions are diagnosed and treated.
Koya reminded all parents and guardians that early detection remains the key which is why initiatives and programs on screening are so important especially for children.
The Minister also commended the ANZ bank whose staff from Astralia and New Zealand raised over $100, 000 in funds to go towards Cure Kids Fiji.
