The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women have received a massive blow ahead of their Super Rugby Women final against the Waratahs as prop Anasimeci Korovata is suspended for one week after receiving three yellow cards in the past three games.
This was confirmed by coach Mosese Rauluni during the Fijian Drua press conference this morning.
Korovata has been playing a pivotal role in the forwards especially during scrums, holding her ground and also causing havoc in the defence with her barnstorming runs.
The 27-year-old received her third yellow card in last week’s 25-14 semi final win over the Western Force in Suva.
Rauluni says they have enough depth in the position, especially with the new players.
He says he had given the new players a few game time during the season for them to experience what it’s like to play in the top-level competition and he is confident that the young players can step up to the plate.
Rauluni says they are also hoping to have utility forward Vika Matarugu back this week after she injured her ankle against the Rebels and was ruled out for the semi final match last week.
The Fijian Drua Women will take on the Waratahs at 4pm this Sunday in Brisbane.
Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men will take on Moana Pasifika at 2.05pm Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka in round 10 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.
