Kontiki Finance Limited has now become one of the latest companies to be listed under the South Pacific Stock Exchange with 88 million shares going at the price of $1.14 each.
While speaking at the official listing ceremony, Kontiki Finance Limited Chairman, Daryl Tarte said having the company listed under the South Pacific Stock Exchange, all of its shareholders, staff members and customers will benefit from the success of the company.
He says starting a business like this was not easy as they were in competition with well established service providers.
He adds that to succeed they had to be innovative and flexible. Tarte says he wants the people of Fiji to benefit from the company’s success.
Chairperson of the South Pacific Stock Exchange, Dr Nur Bano Ali says Kontiki Finance is the first ever finance company to be listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange.
She says finance companies all around the world as we know generally do very well in the exchanges that they do and SPSE is looking forward to that.
After Kontiki, the South Pacific Stock Exchange will have 20 companies representing 10 sectors of the economy.
