Fiji-born Wallabies player Samu Kerevi is likely to miss out on any rugby competition this year after injuring his right knee playing for the Australian sevens team at the Commonwealth Games.
An early diagnosis shows that he will require surgery.
This is a massive blow to the Wallabies' hopes of winning the Rugby Championship or winning back the Bledisloe Cup from New Zealand, which they last won in 2003.
Meanwhile, the Rugby Championship kicks off this week with the Wallabies taking on Argentina at 7.10am Sunday and the All Blacks will meet South Africa at 3.05am Sunday.
