Is the Fiji Labour Party and Social Democratic Liberal Party a coalition of hypocrites?
Plans have already been announced that the FLP and SODELPA have an arrangement to form a coalition after the September 17th general elections.
With just over two months to go for the elections, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said some people who could not work together in the past are now telling the voters that they will join forces.
SODELPA Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa stresses that they are not a coalition of hypocrites.
She said they have worked together for a few years under the United Front for a Democratic Fiji banner and a post coalition arrangement with the FLP has been discussed.
Ro Teimumu also revealed to Fijivillage that SODELPA is attracting a lot of i-Taukei people however they are facing difficulties in getting the support of Fijians of Indian descent.
She believes that they are making the right move in getting the different parties to focus on the groups that they are attracting for the elections.
Ro Teimumu also said that Bainimarama should not be using words such as hypocrites as the Auditor General's Reports from 2006 to date have not been released to show how tax dollars has been spent.
Meanwhile Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry said they have moved on and their coalition plan is all set out.
The Labour Party has also labelled Bainimarama as a hypocrite.
When asked on whether the Labour Party is also struggling to attract i-Taukei people, Chaudhry said he is encouraged to see people of all races looking at FLP’s policies.
He said it will take time for political integration to take place and it cannot be done in a short span of time.
