American competitive swimmer, Katie Ledecky has won gold in the 1500m Freestyle final this morning in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old has now won 12 medals in four Olympic Games.
Ledecky who was the favourite had dominated the swim against her competitors.
In other results this morning, Leon Marchand won gold for France in the 200m Butterfly final while Sarah Sjostrom won gold for Sweden in the Women's 100-metre Freestyle final.
Sjostrom’s will also swim in the 50 metres freestyle.
Meanwhile, China is leading the Olympic tally with 8 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze followed by Japan with 8 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze, France is third with 7 gold and 9 silver while Australia is fourth with 7 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze.
