Long distance runner and Pacific Games 10,000 metres champion Yeshnil Karan has broken his own 5,000 metres national record at the Box Hill Burn in Melbourne.
The former Tavua College student set a record of 14 minutes and 29.50 seconds at the Australian Athletics Championship in Adelaide, Australia in April last year, but took 7 seconds off this time.
The previous record of 14 minutes and 31.73 seconds was also set by him in Brisbane, Australia in 2023.
Karan has been competing in many international competitions and has been improving on his time.
