High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo says he is getting frustrated because he can see non-preparation by the two lawyers in the case of a Navua businessman charged with raping a woman.
Justice Temo made the comments after highlighting during the trial today that defence lawyer, Avinesh Reddy should have photocopied the sketches of the place where the alleged rape took place if he was going to use it during cross examination.
The defence lawyer then apologised to the court but Justice Temo said using sketches and also describing the scene are the basics of examination.
Justice Temo then sent a court clerk to photocopy the sketches.
He also highlighted that for all lawyers this should not be new as they should have learnt this in University adding that now they have to go back and forth in the case.
Justice Temo said the case is important for the accused which is Govind Sami and also the complainant who is currently taking the witness stand.
He said because of non-preparation, justice will suffer.
The alleged incidents occurred between July 2015 and 25th October 2016 in Navua.
