Former All Black Julian Savea has revealed that he wants to extend his stay with the Hurricanes for next Super Rugby season.
After returning from France, Savea joined his old team on a short-term deal until the end of the Super Rugby Aotearoa as a late-season replacement for departed winger Ben Lam.
Savea says that his mentality is to put his best foot forward and show that he has still got it.
He says he is fortunate and grateful to be back for the Hurricanes, even if it is for two weeks, and he is going to make the most of it.
Hurricanes Assistant coach Cory Jane says if Savea gets the nod to play this week or next week, or if he gets a contract for next year, the best thing he can do is come out with all guns blazing and see what happens.
The Hurricanes will take on the Chiefs at 7.05 pm Saturday and the Crusaders will face the Highlanders at 3.35 pm Sunday.
