A judicial review is expected to be heard in the next court sitting in relation to the Commerce Commission taking Fiji Rugby Union to court for breaching the Commerce Commission decree 2010.

The case was heard before High court judge, Justice Brito Muttunayagam this afternoon.

Commerce Commission lawyer Esther Deborah represented the Commission while Richard Naidu and Tomasi Tuitoga represented Fiji Rugby Union.

The case will be recalled on the 25th of this month.

It is understood that the Commission wants the High Court to prosecute the FRU based on their findings and be fined $25,000 for each of the breaches of the Commerce Commission Decree.

The orders sought also include that FRU has to exclude all tickets with unauthorized prices and redraw all twenty dollar tickets or provide opportunity for those with fifteen dollar and ten dollar tickets to pay the difference between their price and the unauthorized price and be included in the draw.

Another recommendation to the courts is to order the FRU to change the authorised price to ten dollars and redraw all sold tickets as ten dollar tickets, with twenty dollar tickets going into the draw as two tickets.
