High Court Judge, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe has ruled that there is a case to answer for a former proposed candidate of the National Federation Party.
The man was initially charged with 7 counts of rape and 4 counts of sexual assault however Justice Rajasinghe has acquitted the man of two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
He says there is no evidence for the main elements of those counts.
It is alleged that the man raped his sister-in-law in June last year.
The accused will continue giving evidence tomorrow.
