High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo has overturned the majority opinion of the assessors in the trial of a man who had allegedly raped his ex-wife.
Justice Temo has found the 37-year-old taxi driver guilty of rape and assault with intent to rape.
The High Court Judge said he found the complainant and the doctor to be credible witnesses.
Defence lawyer Miliana Tarai also submitted her mitigating factors this morning.
Tarai told the court that the 37-year-old man has two children and he is supporting them financially.
He will be sentenced tomorrow.
