Judge happy many backlog cases have been dealt with

A Suva High Court judge highlighted yesterday that he is pleased that many backlog cases have been dealt with.

Justice Sitambaram Pillai Thurairaja said they are dealing with few cases from 2009 and mainly focusing on cases from last year and this year.

He made these comments after three assessors in a rape case gave their verdict of not guilty where a husband of Nausori allegedly raped his wife in February this year.
