Judge finds Niko Levula charged with rape, burglary and aggravated robbery guilty

High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo has found a 28-year-old man guilty of raping and robbing a woman.

Niko Rokara Levula is charged with one count of burglary, one count of rape and one count of aggravated robbery.

All three assessors had also found him guilty of all three charges.

A charge of sexual assault was dropped due to lack of evidence.

The accused broke into a woman’s house as she was sleeping, threatened and raped her before he stole her phone and assorted items.

The incident occurred on Khalsa Road on 5th November 2017.

The case has been adjourned to 11.30 this morning for sentencing submissions.
