Meanwhile Education Minister Doctor Mahendra Reddy says the days where a mother used to sell her jewellery in order to give her child a better education are gone.
Speaking at the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony, Dr Reddy reminded the students and parents that they no longer have to worry about their children’s education since everything has been taken care of.
Dr Reddy assured them that the free education, free bus fare scheme and Tertiary Education Loan Scheme will continue next year.
He says they have come across situations in the past where parents did not send their children to school because they could not even afford to get them their lunch.
He says the Ministry will ensure that it does not happen in future.
