Former Vodafone Fiji Bati and NRL star Jarryd Hayne could make a surprise comeback to international rugby league after Fiji Bati coach and former NRL player Wise Kativerata reveals that he hopes that Hayne makes a decision before the Pacific Bowl tournament in November.
Kativerata says the door is open for Hayne if he wants to join.
Kativerata adds Hayne is fit but they are just waiting on his decision if he is interested, which will be a boost for the team.
The 36-year-old has not played a game since 2018 when he faced sexual assault allegations.
Hayne was initially found guilty but had the allegations quashed on appeal in June, leading to him walking from prison a free man.
It is understood that even if Hayne does agree to play, it is not a guaranteed deal as the Australian Rugby League Commission still needs to approve the deal, despite Hayne not being a contracted player.
The issue will be discussed if Hayne is selected.
Meanwhile, Fiji will play against Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands in Tests to be played in Fiji and Port Moresby
The final will be played at Sydney's Commbank Stadium on November 10.
