The Japanese government is now looking into the $250 million Nadi river diversion project.
Nadi Special Administrator Aisea Tuidraki said that the proposal has been favored as the best option to address the flooding of Nadi town by most communities.
He said that they are awaiting word from the Fiji government after their submissions.
The proposal for the Nadi River diversion has also been favored by most Nadi businesses.
