Two classroom blocks and eight toilet and washing facilities will be constructed at Saint Anne's Primary School in Suva.
The school received a grant of $235,538 from the Japanese Government under the Grass-roots Human Security Program.
The buildings will be cyclone-resilient.
The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Fiji, Mizutani Masataka officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony with Father Cecil Williams.
The project was signed last December between the Ambassador of Japan Masahiro Omura and the schools Head Teacher Ulamila Moceituba.
The construction is expected to be completed within the next six months. The school will also receive 50 student desks and chairs and 2 teachers’ desk and chairs.
